Gibault Joint
Gibault joint has been the undisputed protagonist of the market for a long time, being the only system capable to join pipes made of different materials (steel-cast iron, cement-asbestos, ecc.). This very simple joint, made in electrowelded and tarred carbon steel (or cast iron), has been slowly replaced by a new generation of products: multisize joints. Reasons of this replacement are related to the low versatility of the Gibault joint, because it cannot be used to join pipes with different size, or with an offset degree. Today Gibault joint application is strictly limited to low interest pipelines.
