Finite Element Analysis

All TVC Gate, Globe and Check designs have been virtual modeled and undergone extensive stress analysis on all pressure containing and controlling components. Simulated stress events have been run to assess the safety and reliability of all designs. This coupled with years of successful trouble-free operation assures a product quality second to none.

Flow Analysis

Flow simulations are run using the same virtual models used for Finite Element Analysis. Thus allows engineer's to calculate the Coefficient of the Valve (CVC) and to modify design profiles to optimize valve performance.

Wedge Gate Valves

Introduction

Gate valves are used as shut off valves in many industries. They are beneficial when minimum pressure drop and bi-directional shut off service is required. Gate valves should not be used for throttling because the flow characteristic of these designs is not conducive to accurate and consistent flow control. When attempting to throttle with gate valves, high velocities of flow across the seat and in the bore transition area can cause damage to the valves leading to premature failure. Steel Gate Valves (as shown Figure 2) and Pressure Seal Cast Steel Gate Valves (as shown Figure 3).

Steel Globe Valves

Introduction

Globe valves are used where throttling or both throttling and shut off are required. They can also be used for on-off service, but because of high pressure drop, this is generally confined to applications where the valve is normally closed and pressure drop is not important when the valve is open. Globe valves are available with a complete range of manual or remote actuators. This sample includes bolted Bolted Bonnet Cast Steel T-Type Globe Valves (as shown Figure 4), and Pressure Seal Cast Steel T-Type Globe Valves (as shown Figure 5).

Swing Check Valves

Swing Check Valves Introduction

The swing check valve is designed for use in a system where protection against reversal of flow in the line is desired. The force of the upstream fluid swings the disc out of the waterway, allowing the fluid to pass through the valve with minimal pressure drop. However, should the direction of flow completely reverse, the disc weight will cause the disc to swing into the waterway and, along with the force of the reversed flow, force it to seal against the seat. Swing check valve types includes Bolted Bonnet Cast Steel Swing Check Valves (as shown Figure 6 and Pressure Seal Cast Steel Swing Check Valves (as shown Figure 7).
