Rated 5 out of 5 by Stanzman from It’s 50mm to 43mm !! I thought an i purchasing the wrong reducer to go from a 50mm fitting to 43mm pipe ? So I took a change and yes it is a 50mm fitting that will go into a 50mm elbow, couple, tee , 45 etc

Key Info for Novice: You actually need to install this into another 55mm coupling as this is the same diameter as the pipe. A 40mm Solvent weld pipe will slot perfectly into the reduced end so no additional fittings required there. Screwfix code for a straight connector: 40806

Why is this described as 55x43 when I am told that it is in fact the reducer for 50mm down to 40mm. The 50 to 32 one is properly described as 50/32

50mm and 40mm are the nominal sizes. The actual outside diameter of the pipes are 55mm & 43mm. If you have 50mm solvent pipe then the outside diameter will actually be 55mm.
