Durable and reliable pipe systems for aggregate and mining applications.

The most common use for pipe in the aggregate and mining industries is water management. The design, construction, operation and maintenance rely on pipe systems that are rustproof, break-resistant, corrosion-free, and environmentally friendly. From dewatering to tailings from the mill, pumps and pipework play a vital and integral part to keep fluids moving.

At ISCO, we make piping our business so you can stay focused on yours. We use high density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) for aggregate and mining applications. HDPE is durable and reliable even when utilized in rugged terrains, extreme climates, and changing site environments. Our broad range of HDPE piping systems, GIW® pumps and expertise provide long-term value to mine operators with a need for maximum reliability, resiliency and energy efficiency.

Small pumps that handle big jobs

ISCO offers custom-engineered pump solutions for the mining industry through the GIW® brand. GIW slurry pumps can handle even the harshest pumping conditions in mining. Aggressive slurries require slurry pumps engineered for maximum reliability to keep your processes in motion and your costs in check. GIW’s pumps are your best option for high efficiency, low maintenance and the lowest total cost of ownership—tackling heavy-duty applications and capable of handling slurries with highly abrasive and/or corrosive contents.

Select from a variety of pumps within the LCC family to meet your operational requirements. ISCO sells the entire LCC family of pumps as well as LSA pumps. Contact us to learn more.

LCC-M (Metal Series)

Pumps in the LCC-M series are designed to process slurries containing a wide range of particle sizes, as well as slurries with high-discharge head.

LCC-R (Rubber Series)

Pumps in the LCC-R series are most suited to slurries with fine particle sizes, corrosive contents, and slurries with moderate discharge head.

LCC-H (Heavy Duty Series)

Pumps in the LCC-H series are the toughest, most rugged members of the LCC family.

CASE STUDY

Extreme abrasives called for ISCO’s customized solution at Canadian potash mine.

THE CHALLENGE

K+S Potash Canada (KSPC) recently opened a new greenfield potash mine in Bethune, Saskatchewan, CA with a projected production capacity of 2 million tons of potash. This site pumps and pipes highly abrasive materials including slurry and salt slurry as well as process water across miles of pristine territory. Wear resistance and the ability to design a custom solution led K+S to choose ISCO.

THE SOLUTION

K+S Potash Canada (KSPC) recently opened a new greenfield potash mine in Bethune, Saskatchewan, CA with a projected production capacity of 2 million tons of potash. This site pumps and pipes highly abrasive materials including slurry and salt slurry as well as process water across miles of pristine territory. Wear resistance and the ability to design a custom solution led K+S to choose ISCO.

THE RESULT
The $4.1 billion-dollar Bethune mine is now fully operational, extracting potash crude salt using a solution-mining process where hot water is pumped down through ISCO piping to one well, it dissolves the minerals into a brine which is pushed to the surface, then transported to the drying facility through the ISCO-built system. It is processed into three different potassium chloride products for use in fertilizers and compacted for industrial applications. While this was a massive project, ISCO’s ability to provide on-site, customized solutions on a part-by-part basis at every single connection made a huge difference.

"ISCO was able to provide not only the material to complete basic pipeline, but the customized fittings to make sure it met design requirements."
