Brass is a great choice for applications that require high pressure or temperature ratings. Less expensive than steel, brass is a resilient and strong material that works well for ball valves, gate valves, and check valves. We carry all three styles in different sizes. Each type has threaded ends which is the easiest for installing metal valves. We recommend a lubricant or pipe thread solution for best installation results.
Brass valves are an economical choice, especially for non-chemical applications that don't require the resistant properties of stainless steel. A properly installed and operated brass valve will last for years. Our quality valves are made of cast brass. That means the body is formed as one piece using molten brass and a valve mold. The handle and stopper are then added in to give on/off or regulating functionality.
Both ball valves and gate valves are best used for on and off use. Using this type of valve for regulating flow is not recommended due to the strain it can put on the valve. Check valves, however, are used to allow flow at all times - but only in one direction. Liquid is allowed to pass down flow of the valve as long as the pressure differential is met.
